One of the many traditions on campus is reserved just for resident international students! The tradition is the International Student Tree Trimming Evening with the President. Long-standing for thirteen years, international students are invited to the President’s house for delicious, holiday-themed snacks and Christmas tree decorating. This is an opportunity for students to learn about American Christmas traditions as well as socialize with many faculty and staff involved in Global Learning and connect with each other in the true spirit of the holidays.
This was President Zak’s first year hosting the tree-trimming event so it was exciting to see all the special ornaments she brought from her time working in the White House administration over the years. There were also some very special Agnes Scott and Summit ornaments on display, as well! Dining Services also provided some wonderful food, including fresh fruit, hot apple cider, hot chocolate, candy canes, little cakes, and delicious cookies! We had a wonderfully merry time.
